Island Home invites you to experience authentic and traditional Sri Lankan village cooking, which is all about creating exotic flavours and healthy goodness.
Our ingredients are sourced from Victorian farmers, organic where possible, which we pair with seasonal tree crops and ancient grains.
The weekly menu prepared by our kitchen is presented in artisanal leaf wrapping and we are proud that all our packing is 100% home compostable. We also offset our entire business activity, to compensate for emissions.

The Sri Lankan Kitchen
The village cuisine of Sri Lanka is a celebration of living in balance with nature. Each kitchen is all about slow, simple and healthy cooking that showcases the incredible diversity of spices, vegetables, fruits and nuts that are found growing in each home garden on the island. It is a seasonal and harmonious relationship between man and nature with ample room for both.
Our Journey
Michele and I spent over 15 wonderful years living on the edge of the rainforest in the southern city of Galle, where we helped a number of organic and forest garden producer groups to establish and market themselves. The many friends we made on our journeys, swapped recipes with us and encouraged us to appreciate the importance of diversity on our plate. We cook for you with this ethos in mind; All our leaf wrapped artisanal rice meals use seasonal and local production from sustainable farm sources, we include tree products such as Jackfruit and Breadfruit that are grown naturally without chemicals and we serve this to you on a bed of chemical free heirloom rice in 100% home compostable packaging.
